As winter unfurls, I love nothing better than layering up a bedroom with cosy quilts, piles of pillows and beautiful hand-woven natural materials to create a true sanctuary; whatever the climate of the outside world.
This week on the journal I thought I would share examples from the HADEDA collection that would fit seamlessly into a bedroom setting - from our beautiful new hand-woven headboards, to those finishing touches with our Whiteman and Mellor scatter cushions and statement decorative baskets.
Start with structure
The bigger pieces in your bedroom - the bed itself, side tables, storage and occasional chairs - are the first things to consider. Are you looking for a singular colour scheme or material to run through them all, or a more ecclectic, layered look? We have a range of cane furniture - available in headboards, end of the bed benches, bedside tables and single seater chairs. By chosing a natural finish it will give the room a cohesive feel that won't date and you can simply refresh with new curtains, cushions and bedlinens as you wish. Flooring
You may already have a fitted carpet, or stripped floorboards but that doesn't mean you can't add texture or refresh a bedroom design with the addition of some rugs. We have a 'made to order' seagrass mat service that immediately adds a tactile, organic feel to any room and can be made to fit perfectly into any space. They are super hard-wearing but not super soft under foot, so we suggest layering with one of our wool rugs on top, to give a soft landing in the morning and a stunning contrast in textures.
Wall Art
Think 'outside the frame' when it comes to adorning your walls - it doesn't have to be a print or artwork, why not curate a basket wall, or add one of our linen illustrated wallhangings. They are great for adding warmth and drama to a space.
Finishing touches
We stock a range of 100% cotton quilts, which are the perfect 'extra' layer as the nights get colder, as well as some hand-woven throws which sit perfects at the foot of the bed to add colour to neutral bedlinen.
