Vetiver vases are handwoven from the root of the vetiver grass in Madagascar and are recognised for their organic tasseled appearance and earthy aroma. The root of the grass is extracted from the earth, washed, dried and then woven into the piece.
Vetiver is a tropical grass, originally grown on the island of Madagascar to help alleviate soil erosion. Today it is sought after for its oil which is widely used by perfumers and in aromatherapy. Vetiver oil possesses antiseptic properties and is thought to alleviate stress and anxiety.
